Delete your data
Delete your Cal 3D account and everything synced to it — in the app, in two steps. Without an account, deleting the app is enough.

How to delete your data
Auf Deutsch: Diese Anleitung gibt es auch auf Deutsch — Daten löschen.
A German version of this page is available at /konto-loeschen/.
App: Cal 3D · Developer: Noah Sioly UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Two cases, depending on whether you signed in. Without an account your diary lives on your device alone, so deleting the app removes it. With an account, delete the account in the app — it takes the synced copy with it. Either way you do it yourself, without having to ask us. What can be on our side even without an account, and what survives a deletion, is in the table below.
Option 1 — everything at once
Deleting an app works differently on the two platforms, so both ways are spelled out.
iPhone and iPad
- Press and hold the Cal 3D icon on your home screen.
- Choose Remove App, then Delete App.
Android
- Open Settings › Apps and choose Cal 3D.
- Tap Uninstall and confirm.
This irreversibly deletes your diary, profile, goals, progress and settings on this device. If you never signed in, there is no synced copy on our side to delete — what can still be here without an account is listed in the table below, each with its own period, and every one of them is deleted automatically. If you did sign in, the synced copy stays until you delete the account — that is Option 2.
Option 2 — delete the data, keep the app
- Open Cal 3D and go to Profile.
- Scroll to the Account Actions section at the bottom.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm with Delete.
Directly above it you will see Log out. That is not a second deletion: it ends the session on this device and starts you at the beginning of the setup again. Nothing on the device is erased, and nothing in your account is either — sign back in and everything is there.
This permanently deletes your logs, goals and weight history on this device, along with the stored profile and progress photos. Pending meal reminders are cancelled at the same time, so no notification arrives for data that no longer exists. The app is then back in its initial state.
The menu entry is called Delete Account, and that is exactly what it does: it deletes the account and every document synced to it, and it wipes this device as described above. Without an account it does the second half alone.
If you signed in with Apple, one step is left and only you can do it: Cal 3D may still be listed under Settings › your name › Sign in with Apple, and you can remove it there. The app cannot do that for you — it never receives the token Apple would need for it — so it says the same thing on screen after deleting. Your account and everything in it are already gone at that point; what remains is the entry in your Apple ID.
Important: this does not end your subscription
A running subscription continues even after the app is deleted. It has to be cancelled separately in the store:
What still exists afterwards — and what does not
| Data | After deletion | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Diary, profile, goals, progress on this device | After deletioncompletely gone | Whythe copy on the device — without an account it was the only one |
| Diary, profile, progress in your account | After deletiongone with the account | Whydeleting the account deletes every document belonging to it — there is no soft-delete, and no copy of these documents outlives the account |
| The notification token of this device | After deletiongone with the account | Whyit only exists if you allowed notifications, and it exists for one purpose: to tell you when a referral reward was earned. It is tied to the account, so it goes when the account goes. Expo, which passes the message to Apple, keeps the token its own way — that transfer is in the privacy policy |
| Referral rewards you earned but have not used yet | After deletiongone with the account | Whya balance belongs to the account that earned it, so deleting the account deletes it too — there is no way for us to hand it to you afterwards, because nothing is left to hand it to. If you have a balance you want to keep, redeem it before you delete |
| A friend’s referral code you entered | After deletionstays | Whyotherwise your friend would lose the reward they earned. What stays is the code, the amount, the status and the date — the identifier next to it is a random number that points at nobody once your account is gone |
| A reward that was actually paid out to you | After deletionstays for eight years | Whya payment is an accounting record — only possible for rewards paid out before 24 August 2026. § 147 (3) AO and § 257 (4) HGB set the period at eight years for accounting vouchers (ten applies to ledgers and annual accounts, not to this), and § 160 AO lets the tax office demand who received it. It names you, and this is the one case a deletion request cannot reach |
| A wrong estimate you reported | After deletiondeleted a year after you sent it | Whyit is not tied to your account — it can be sent without one — so deleting the account does not reach it. Each report carries its own deletion date and a scheduled job removes it |
| Photos of your meals | After deletionnothing held by us | Whynever stored on our side, only passed through — what the model provider does with them is in the privacy policy |
| Hash of your IP address | After deletionuntil the quota table is next cleaned up | Whya per-day row in the quota table, never read again once the day rolls over. A clean-up removes old rows, but it is not on a schedule, so we name no deadline we cannot keep. The IP address cannot be recovered from the hash. |
| Subscription identifier at RevenueCat | After deletionas long as the subscription is on record there | Whywithout it the app would not know after a reinstall that you have paid. Deleting the account does not reach it — write to us and we will delete it |
| Record of a purchase message on our side | After deletionstays | Whythe store may deliver the same message twice; this record is what stops the second delivery from paying a referral reward again. Deleting it would reopen exactly that gap |
| Purchase and billing data | After deletionstays with Apple | Whystatutory retention at the store; we have no access to it |
| Emails you sent us | After deletionon request, otherwise at most six months | Whythey sit in our mailbox — see below |
| Device backup (iCloud, Google Drive, computer) | After deletionmay still hold a copy | Whybackups are yours, not ours — delete older ones yourself if needed |
Requesting deletion from us
If you have written to us, that correspondence sits in our mailbox. We delete it on request:
You can also write to us: Noah Sioly UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Hoheluftchaussee 139, 20253 Hamburg, Germany.
We need no ID for this. If you have an account, write from the address you signed in with; if you do not, writing from the address you used is enough.
Accounts and sync
An account is optional and syncs your diary between your devices. You can delete it — and everything stored with it — directly in the app under Profile → Account Actions → Delete Account; nothing has to go through us.
